The Expedition to the Scottish West Coast

THIS IS AN ACTIVITY & SCENIC DRIVING TOUR  (it can also be offered with one of our driver guides). This tour is based on 4 adults sharing two double bedrooms. We can also offer larger/smaller groups this tour, with any add - on's you wish, as many days as you wish, just email your numbers and dates, we will then design this bespoke tour and cost it.

The basic Itinerary; Start the tour anywhere in Scotland, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth, Inverness etc, collect rental car (or be met by a driver/guide) head north through Fort William to Glen Uig, 3 nights here with 2 x half day Sea Kayaking, 3 fully cooked breakfasts based in Glenuig. Moving to Oban; 3 nights here, 3 fully cooked breakfasts, return ferry to the Isle of Mull (day trip). Tour notes with many suggestions where to eat, drink, visit!

Water activity in Glenuig; Our (watersport) Guides all hold British Canoe Union qualifications for Sea Kayaking and have decades of kayaking experience and enjoy nothing better than sharing knowledge and experience, whether you are a novice just starting sea-kayaking or you have experience and want a local guide to take you out. In particular, Steve has a wealth of experience kayaking all over the UK, on rivers, estuaries and the sea, as well as being a member of kayaking expeditions to diverse areas including Arctic Scandinavia and Pakistan. Now holding the BCU 5 Star Sea Leader Award he enjoys leading & paddling with small groups in and around the lochs, headlands and white sandy beaches of the Sound of Arisaig.  Look out for Basking Sharks, Dolphins, Porpoises and Minke Whales, especially during late Spring and Summer. Guillemots, Razor Bills, Shearwaters, Puffins, Red and Black Throated Divers, Mergansers Gannets and many others can all be seen whilst paddling around the Sound of Arisaig And at almost any time of the year you might spot Golden Eagles and Sea Eagles. And of course you have every chance of seeing Otters fishing and playing . . . so long as you quietly keep your distance! There are many more species, but we are not going to spoil your surprise by listing them all here . . . although if you don’t see any of those we have mentioned, remember; they probably saw you!

At Oban, explore the west coast of Argyll, superb scenery, food and drink! Visit the Isle of Mull, this is the relaxing 3 days of the tour, but - you can make it as energetic as you wish, more water sports available, bird watching, walking - the list is long!
