The Malt Teasers Whiskey Club was set up in 2006 by three friends, P.J., Pat & Robbie, who had (and still have! ) a common interest in collecting and consuming the amber nectar.  Pat's interest has led to the conversion of his attic to his own personal whiskey bar (Crazy Quints Bar) and P.J.'s collection presently numbers approx. 150 different whiskies and Robbie's collection is catching up fast!

Angels Share refers to the quantity of the whiskey or wine, which is lost to evaporation during the aging process. If you would like a more in-depth description… Warehousing the maturation of whisky requires that companies have suitable storage facilities for the large cask inventory this entails. Traditionally, maturing whisky was accommodated in stone-built single- or multi-storey warehouses located beside the distillery. During maturation the cask is not an impermeable container, allowing the evaporation of spirit (both ethanol and water) and the ingress of air (oxygen). The loss of a small percentage of spirit has long been an accepted part of maturation, and this loss has been found to vary with the environmental conditions in a warehouse. My best pal can sometimes be an angel, but then again she can sometimes a wee divel! She doesn't really like it that much, except for a toddy! My dad (Paul's) is currently taking his share of this!

Now I know this isnee whisky, BUT; if you are like me you also like a nice bottle o wine too! I love my reds, but hey, can drink anything really, which, to be honest, Liz and myself do get around to sampling a few bottles of red, white and rose! So, why not take a peep at this ... Natalie MacLean, www.nataliemaclean.com    author of the bestseller Red, White and Drunk All Over, publishes a free wine newsletter. She has a superb wine website go and see it and learn!
