MCLEANSCOTLAND we are local Scots who pride ourselves on showing you the nooks & crannies other tours companies pass on by.   We can show you those hidden gems even Scots do not know!  McLean Scotland scotch whisky tours all over Scotland for whisky lovers on escorted whiskey tours

WHISKY BREAKS

With so many distilleries to choose from you will be spoilt for choice.  We can arrange both self drive and driver/guided tours for all these tours. We have given you a few ideas here:

3 NIGHTS IN PERTHSHIRE:

Starting at either Glasgow or Edinburgh, this tour brings you to the heart of Scotland. You will be based for the three nights either at Perth or Pitlochry in superb accommodation.  We will design a tour to suit your requirements that will include: Scotland's smallest distillery: Edradour, Scotland's oldest: The Famous Grouse recently scooped gold in two of the drinks industry's top global awards and not forgetting Dewars, set in highland Perthshire.  Cost will depend on number in party and hotel style... B&B, Guest House, Hotel or Castle all available.

.............................................................

3 NIGHTS IN THE HIGHLANDS OF SPEYSIDE:

Your tour will start at either Glasgow or Edinburgh (should you require accommodation/car rental, please let us know) early morning after a good hearty Scottish breakfast!  Travel north to Perth where you can stop briefly to see glass being "blown" at Caithness Glass.  Also available here - refreshments and rest rooms.  Continue north on the A9 to Aviemore, a good place for a break and maybe something to eat. After Aviemore take the turning for Grantown on Spey and follow the signs for GLENFIDDICH.  Take your first tour here.  A wee dram follows the tour, you should be ok after this to drive on to your hotel locally.  Overnight here.  We will select a suitable hotel for you.

The following two days will be spent travelling around Speyside mixing whisky with fantastic scenery and castles.  There are more distilleries in this area than the resat of Scotland put together so you will be spoilt for choice.  Staying again at the selected hotel.  Your fourth day will take you back to your starting point via one more distillery: Dalwhinnie, or, where ever you wish - need more time? let us know.  Cost will depend on number in party and hotel style... B&B, Guest House, Hotel or Castle all available.

.............................................................

6 NIGHT CLASSIC:

The Six Classic Malts of Scotland - carefully selected to best represent each of the main whisky producing regions of Scotland. They embrace the full diversity of regional tastes and styles.  WE WILL DESIGN A TOUR TAKING YOU TO ALL THESE DISTILLERIES.  OBAN: One of the oldest stills in Scotland. A 14 year old combining the sophistication of the Highlands with a touch of the peaty style of the Islands. It is rich and full-bodied with a mellow fruity finish. GLENKINCHIE: is a soft, sweetly aromatic malt from the 'Garden of Scotland'. Is has a fresh, grassy sweetness balanced with a warming, dryish finish. GRAGGANMORE: A 12 year old elegant, sophisticated Speyside with the most complex aroma of any malt. Astonishingly fragrant with sweetish notes and a smoky maltiness on the finish. TALISKER: A 10 year old and the only malt produced on Skye. Its seaweedy, smoky nose and sweet maltiness is perfectly complimented by its spicy, long finish. Talisker is the only distillery on the Isle of Skye. The taste of the whisky reminds you of its place of birth. DALWHINNIE: Highest distillery in Scotland. A 15 year old gentle, delicate malt from the wild and windswept Highlands. It is subtle, smooth delicately malt with a heathery honey finish.  LAGAVULIN: A 16 year old distinctive and powerful Islay malt. It is deeply smoky and peaty with a velvety, complex finish. Cost will depend on number in party and hotel style... B&B, Guest House, Hotel or Castle all available.

.............................................................

Of course these are only a sample, we can build you a tour for as long as you wish with as many distilleries as you wish.  Please take care not to drink and drive!  Hotel selection depends on your preference and style of accommodation.  We work this out with you before you travel. Also available, longer tours with whisky in mind - check these out:
