family on tour in Scotland 2010

12 JULY; The group arrive into Scotland, where we will meet you with your coach at the airport. We drive north via Loch Lomond, turning west into the Argyll forest stopping briefly here, before heading for Campbeltown to SPRINGBANK DISTILLERY.

Here we have a guided distillery tour and a taste of course! Some local sightseeing (depending on arrival time) before moving to our hotel for the night; STONEFIELD CASTLE HOTEL, this will make our transfer to the ferry next day easy.

13 JULY; we take the morning ferry to Islay, where upon landing, we will be met by a local islander guide, not just a guide, but an expert whisky guide! We will be paying a visit to TWO distilleries today, more info later on which two. Overnight on Islay.

14 JULY; another distillery tour followed by scenic sightseeing, before taking the evening ferry back to the mainland, where we spend overnight at INVERARAY.

15 JULY; departing Inveraray we spend a wee time exploring 5000 year old standing stones and burial cairns, ancient grave stones and Kirk at Kilmartin Glen. From here we travel to OBAN, where we tour the distillery. Free time also at Oban to see the sights, shops and pubs, excellent seafood here. Returning to Inveraray overnight. We have arranged a whisky tasting here tonight, more details later.

16 JULY; First, a visit to Inveraray castle, followed by a scenic tour to Crieff where we visit Glenturret Distillery (Famous Grouse). After a tour and taste, we head to PERTH for your next hotel.

17 JULY; another day of whisky and scenic touring, as we head to Dewar's world of whisky, a tour and a taste, a superb tour! Time for lunch at Killin, before one more distillery; Edradour in Pitlochry. Returning to Perth overnight. Tonight we have a buffet style reception at a local pub, The Foundry.

18 JULY; transfer to the airport and a farewell!
