A SHORT TOUR OF SCOTLAND
for Masonic Lodge of Canada

Above left; Let us drive you and guide you around
our country. Above right; Carrbridge in winter
2 October. Arrive Scotland into Glasgow –
coach and mcleanscotland staff meet you at airport,
transfer to Rosslyn Chapel in Lothian for a visit.
After touring the fantastic chapel we break for free
time for lunch. There are two excellent
pub/restaurants in Rosslin village minutes from the
chapel. On board the coach again we drive into
Edinburgh itself, where we take you on a city tour
for familiarisation. Check into hotel, remainder of
the day is free. Dinner tonight at the hotel is
included. Today as with every day, we will be
supplying comprehensive tour notes on the location
you stay and the route.
3 October. all day free time Edinburgh, can
include a Lodge visit subject to prior notice.
Overnight Edinburgh. Dinner at your own expense
this evening. We will give you many ideas on what
to see, and where to eat today in your tour notes.
4 October. after breakfast we head north
over the Forth Road bridge into the Kingdom of
Fife. Our first stop will be in Perth, a courtesy
stop for rest rooms, drinks etc. As we continue
north through beautiful Perthshire countryside, we
make a stop in Pitlochry, here we will tour
Scotland’s smallest whisky distillery and end the
tour with a dram! As we continue north through ever
changing scenery we are heading to our final
destination; Strathpeffer and your hotel for the
next two nights. Dinner is included in Strathpeffer.
5 October. all day touring including the
largest house in the Highlands; Dunrobin Castle. A
remarkable scenic day out before returning to
Strathpeffer for dinner and overnight.
6 October. We head west this morning over
moors, through glens, passing lochs until we arrive
at Loch Duich and make a special visit Eilean Donan
Castle, with views to Skye. From here we drive west
and south now to the Great Glen and on to Fort
William. With a courtesy stop at Spean Bridge before
a wonderful finale drive to Oban, where we stay
tonight. Dinner is included.
7 October. we leave the highlands and travel
south, down through Loch awe and Inveraray, we head
south through the mountain pass “rest and be
thankful” bringing us through the Argyll Forest to
Loch Lomond. A brief stop here for a stretch of the
legs and maybe that group photo! From the loch we
are under an hour away from Glasgow and our city
centre hotel. Overnight Glasgow. Dinner on your own
this evening.
8 October. There can be a Lodge visit to
Kilwining (above) if you give us prior notice.
Throughout the Masonic world
Kilwinning’s Masonic Lodge is known as the Mother
Lodge. Mother Kilwinning issued charters to new
Masonic lodges in Scotland and the American colonies
prior to the formation of the Grand Masonic Lodge of
Scotland in 1736.
Once we have returned to Glasgow we will give you a
guided Glasgow city tour. Free time for the
remainder of this, your final day. Overnight Glasgow
city centre with a farewell dinner at the hotel.
9 October transfer to airport for flight
home.
