DAY ONE; arrive here in Scotland at Glasgow, either by rail, plane or car. A wee journey to Queen Street railway station where you catch a train north; superb scenery and a relaxing journey to OBAN, seafood capital of Scotland. Your first night in the town where I was born, it's where I love to go anyhow, I know you will fall in love with it too. Staying at a friends small 4 star hotel, high up over looking Oban Bay, a very nice room and great breakfast await you, its where I stay when I go home.

DAY TWO; time to get on a boat! You have choices today, a wee boat sailing directly to my castle (well I say mine, it belongs to a Maclean, my clan chief), or a ferry sailing to Mull, where you can also travel to Iona or Tobermory. either way you travel to Mull, a great day out is certain, returning to Oban for the night. CRUISES

DAY THREE; heading east today, still you do not need a car as you take the train again, this time a reverse journey to Crainlarich, where you change trains for FORT WILLIAM. Once there you can check into your accommodation and wander around this wee highland town, some good pubs, restaurants and sights!

DAY FOUR; time for yet another train! This time the Jacobite steam train, taking you on a round trip to Mallaig. A great day trip departing approx 10am returning approx 4pm. This is the train featured in Harry Potter.

DAY FIVE; another journey, this time by coach to the capital of the highlands;  Inverness. Arriving in the afternoon, drop off luggage and set out to explore the city. lots to do here for everyone. You stay in a very nice guest house overlooking the river, owned by friends.

DAY SIX; explore Culloden, the Loch with a monster, whisky tasting, or simply enjoy the surroundings, whatever you chose we know you will enjoy it, plus; there are some great places for this evening!

DAY SEVEN; THE TRAIN AGAIN, THIS TIME SOUTH, ALL THE WAY TO EDINBURGH. Our capital has so much to offer, not least in the accommodation we will place you in, very central but at the same time not noisy.

DAY EIGHT; explore the capital city and all it has to offer, we will of course be giving you many suggestions and ideas what to see, do, where to eat and drink etc.

DAY NINE; today you take a mini coach tour to Rosslyn Chapel and Melrose in the Borders, a great day and one to remember! Final night here, our suggestion for dinner is the Dome on George Street.

DAY TEN; the tour ends after breakfast, how much of Scotland gave you seen? the answer; lots! Enough to want to come back again soon.

Welcome to MCLEANSCOTLAND

This tour has been designed to be a superb trip if I was taking it myself! In fact, I have done, several times! So, hold your breath and take a look at what I think is a great introduction to my country. The big plus about this tour is that you DO NOT NEED TO DRIVE. This 10 day tour will take you around many parts of Scotland, meeting locals, taking some wee, wee roads, even going to a few places many Scots don't know are there!

"I have tried to give you a tour to remember and, I think I have. Depending on what time of year you travel, I will make more suggestions to see such things as pipe bands, highland games etc, just to make it even better!" PAUL MCLEAN

Please Note; we can adapt this tour to include the 2012 Clan Maclean gathering on MULL, by adding a few nights on Mull, again with no driving needed, or by deleting a few days elsewhere on the tour. This tour can also be taken by one of our experienced Scottish driver/guides or as a self drive. 12 months per year. It can also be taken in reverse if this suits you better. It can be taken as a WHISKY TOUR visiting distilleries at Oban, Tobermory, Fort William, Speyside and Edinburgh. Full details on request.
