There is no country quite like Scotland if you want to
enjoy the long tradition of hospitality and golf;
licking your lips in keen anticipation of following in
the footsteps of famous players, such as Woods,
Nicklaus, Montgomery and Lyle when you play on pure
links and parkland courses of quality and breathtaking
beauty! You can play the same courses that helped shape
these great champions while also giving them some of
their proudest moments at they rose to superstardom.
Anyone can research destinations, accommodation and golf
courses before publishing their website or holiday
brochure.
But no amount of research can match Michael
Lynch's experience of golfing in Scotland - it's our
homeland! We keep many of our golfing ‘gems’ well
hidden, almost! Our golfing holidays are dedicated
to Scotland.
We know of almost every village and town
across the nation; we travelled many a highway and byway
but, more importantly, Mike is a PGA European Seniors
Tour Player and is readily available to lend assistance
with our golfing tours, should the need ever arise. On
occasions he engages in friendly combat with guests; it
could be your luck next time! This ensures that you will
enjoy the delights of Scotland as much as we do.
We are here to save you all the bother of sorting out
all the details while saving you time and money as well.
If you feel that more information is required, please
feel free to contact us for additional and unbiased
information: we are available to answer your queries to
smooth over any difficulties that may arise - and
without obligation to you.
If we can't help, who could?

Here is Liz and pal Janice sharing a drink with them at
our local pub in Broughty Ferry, September 2007.

A great tour
with these guys from the States, even though we booked the whole tour
and only spent several days with them, we felt like we knew them so well
by this stage.

GOLF IN THE NEWS
The R&A have announced that Turnberry
will host the 2009 Open Championship from 16th-19th
July. It will be the fourth time the Ayrshire course has
staged the event since it was added to the Open roster
in 1977. That year will always will be remembered for
the 'Duel in the Sun' between Tom Watson and Jack
Nicklaus, eventually won by Watson by a single shot.
Greg Norman won in 1986 thanks largely to a second-round
63 after opening with a 74, while Nick Price won in 1994
after a great battle with Jesper Parnevik.

NEWS; 6 OCT 2007. Scots-made club holes out
at £89,000 A SCOTTISH-made golf club has
fetched a record-breaking £89,577 at auction. The 18th century long-nosed
putter, attributed to Leith clubmaker and former caddie, Andrew Dickson, was
sold by Sotheby's in New York. A collection of 11 antique St Andrews-made golf
clubs also earned more than £60,000. They were designed by two of golf's most
illustrious names - "Old" Tom Morris Sr and Hugh Philp. The sale of the Scottish
clubs was part of a larger lot - the Jeffrey B Ellis Antique Golf Club
Collection - which fetched more than £1 million in total when it went under the
hammer. It was the largest collection of golf memorabilia to come up for auction
in recent times.

news; Congratulations
to Pardraig from mcleanscotland golf!
If a Scot could not win the
2007 Open, we are so pleased an
Irishman did!
Padraig Harrington
A
superb last round of four under par 67 took
Padraig into a play-off with Sergio Garcia for
the Open Championship. But in a dramatic finish
Garcia lipped out for par and a four hole
play-off ensued. Padraig played class golf to
leave himself with a four foot putt for the
title. He holed it to become the first Irishman
to win the title in 60 years and has now won all
three play-offs he has contested this year. And

Jack Nicklaus
plans new golf resort
on Stonehaven estate. JULY 2007 NEWS. A NEW
golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus would form the
centrepiece of a £40 million hotel and resort
development unveiled yesterday.
Edinburgh-based FM Developments announced that Ury
Estate in Stonehaven is to become home to only the
second Jack Nicklaus signature golf course in
Scotland. The "Golden Bear's" PGA Centenary course
at Gleneagles, which opened in 1993, has already
been recognised as a modern classic. It has also
been chosen as the venue for the 2014 Ryder Cup. Mr
Nicklaus last night said: "Ury Estate is a fantastic
landscape that commands great views across the
surrounding countryside and out to the North Sea,
offering us a wonderful opportunity to design a
memorable golf experience. "The area is immersed in
Scottish history and we are honoured to be a part of
its golf future. We look forward to the challenge of
blending the golf course design with its
surroundings, and hope to create a beautiful course
that will highlight the incredible Scottish
scenery." The 18-hole Nicklaus championship course
will be the flagship of FM Developments' plans to
transform the 1,500-acre Ury Estate on the outskirts
of Stonehaven into a massive leisure complex with a
hotel, shooting range, tennis courts and equestrian
and fishing facilities.
The proposal comes on the back of Donald Trump's
plans for a £1 billion development at Menie in
Aberdeenshire and reinforces hopes of establishing
the North-east of Scotland as a golfing Mecca.
