GRAND MASTER'S TOUR OF SCOTLAND 2007

4 AUGUST 2007 - Arrive into Scotland at Edinburgh airport where our coach will be waiting to meet you. Once all safely aboard we will head over the Forth Road Bridge into the Kingdom of Fife and on to Perth, where we stop for refreshments at the Caithness Glass factory and visitor centre, maybe see some glass blowing demonstrations! Food, drinks and rest rooms available. Heading north again our next stop will be the lovely Victorian Town of Pitlochry, where we will call into the Edradour whisky distillery for a visit and welcome dram! This is the smallest distillery in Scotland and is set in a pretty hamlet overlooking the town below. Around two hours later we arrive in Inverness.  We will check into the Palace Hotel - which has leisure facilities. A WELCOME TO SCOTLAND DINNER TONIGHT INCLUDING A PIPER ACCOMPANYING THE HAGGIS and A DRAM OF WHISKY TO TOAST THE HAGGIS.

5 AUGUST - A day trip including: Culloden Battlefield, Clava Cairns and Glenfiddich whisky distillery. Returning back to Inverness, there is an option for those who wish, to leave the coach trip here and spend time in Inverness itself. The coach will continue north and on to Glenmorangie distillery at Tain for a visit. A day of history and whisky! We return to Inverness.  Option for golfers to play a course locally, to be booked separately before leaving USA. BED AND BREAKFAST AT THE HOTEL - recommendations can be made for dinner; tonight in our hotel we will introduce a seanachie (storyteller) to you who will give you a story of the 1745 rebellion!

6 AUGUST - a free day to do as you wish. We will offer a coach trip to Loch Ness, (where you have an optional extra to take a boat - The Jacobite - sailing along the loch) and on to Urquhart castle, where you will enjoy a tour. This is the deepest and widest part of the loch and where most of the Nessie sightings have been! We will travel along the loch as far as Fort Augustus where you will have some free time. See the Caledonian canal locks - Neptune's Staircase, walk around this wee town, sample a beer in the bothy (inn) or simply sit back and relax and watch the day go by. The coach will return you to Inverness.  Overnight as BED AND BREAKFAST.  Option for golfers to play a course locally, to be booked separately before leaving USA. We walk across the bridge to an excellent whisky store, which will provide our private tasting night, sample Scottish malts, explore the huge range the store has to offer.  Dinner recommendations can be made.

7 AUGUST - Today we will offer a full day trip to Eilean Donan Castle and Skye. We will take you from east coast to west coast, in this superb day trip. The entrance fee to the castle will be the only extra as some may wish to take the hilltop walk or just view the castle from the mainland. Then we take the short trip to Skye over the road bridge.  We make our way to the island capital: Portree (the Kings port in Gaelic) for some free time. Superb views out over the bay, great wee pubs and an easy walk (10 minutes) around this wee island town.  We return to Inverness via a different route - over the mountains and through the glens of Wester Ross.  DINNER INCLUDED TONIGHT AT CULLODEN HOUSE - TRANSFER TO CULLODEN AND RETURN INCLUDED.  Option for golfers to play a course locally, to be booked separately before leaving USA.

8 AUGUST - We leave the Highlands and return south, stopping at Scone Palace near Perth - refreshments available. Scone Palace is where Robert the Bruce and many other Scottish Kings were crowned.  Stand on Moot Hill, visit the tiny chapel, the palace itself or wander the vast gardens.  Then head directly to Edinburgh and the city hotel.  Remainder of the day is free time.  Overnight B&B. With so many options in our Capital for dining, we will leave you to your own choices tonight.  However - we will be making many suggestions for you, or can book a large or smaller group/s into restaurants at your requirement.  Staying at the BRUNTSFIELD Hotel whilst in Edinburgh.

9 AUGUST - a half day on the coach again, this time we will split the group in rotation to visit Rosslyn Chapel, Rosslyn Castle and also (if available) the brand new underground tour with Masonic and Templar mysteries (full details will be supplied if available).  Back to Edinburgh Overnight B&B. More posted online when we fully confirm the underground tour.

10 AUGUST - a free day in the Capital of Scotland. Overnight Edinburgh B&B. Option for golfers to play a course locally, to be booked separately before leaving USA.

11 AUGUST - a free day in the Capital of Scotland and Farewell Dinner in Evening." Overnight Edinburgh. Option for golfers to play a course locally, to be booked separately before leaving USA.

12 AUGUST - transfer to airport for homeward journey.

Our fully bound tour notes will include places to consider visiting whilst in both Inverness and Edinburgh with suggestions on where to dine, pubs etc.  They offer lots of Scottish information with many personal recommendations of ours - a little humour too!

COST:  Based on a minimum of 20 fully paying adults - 1170 pounds per adult sharing EXCLUDING FLIGHT - cost of flight to be advised as soon as possible.
