HAVING A CHAT HERE ABOUT THE BEAUTIFUL BLEND OF PIPE BANDS AND WHISKY

Would you or your organisation like to sponsor a pipe band? If so please contact us and we can put you in touch with bands looking for this kind of assistance.  CAN I JUST SAY; for readers not in a band, many think the bands get paid. Well in truth, the bands need to pay for their coaches to get them about and its no cheap, band members DO NOT get paid by the band, they do it because they love to play! away for up to 10 hours JUST FOR FUN! So next time you see pipe bands, please be aware of what they go through to entertain you. Maybe offer to buy pipers or drummers a drink or at least say thanks for coming, nice to see you etc. Now, when you all go to enjoy the Worlds, remember too, the bands from abroad have also paid airfares and accommodation here - for the love of playing!  A story that had to be told; Paul McLean. Wee note; any prize money the bands get goes into the kitty for travel.

"We the Grandfather Mountain Highlanders Pipe Band were in Scotland last year for the 2010 Worlds and booked McLean. The bus was there when we arrived from USA at Glasgow Airport the driver took us to the University of Strathclyde. We had the bus booked to take us to North Berwick, Bridge of Allen and the Worlds, our driver was fantastic and very helpfull. Then at the end of our trip he picked us up and took us back to Glasgow Airport. We have used other bus companies in the past BUT none had the high standard which we received. It was like we had our own personal limo. Hope this helps you decide to go with Paul McLean."  KS.

Thank you for all the assistance you and your staff provided The New York Metro Pipe Band in our trip over to the World's this year. You all went out of your way to make every thing smooth including coordinating the purchase of a Gazebo for the band to use at the competition. I can not Thank you enough and will surely recommend you to any of the other bands making the journey in the future. You were every bit part of our winning the Grade 3B championship this year. Regards, Michael. A wee rant by Paul McLean; This is against the BBC. Why is their coverage of the worlds so bland? Why do they ONLY show grade 1 bands, do all the others not exist? are they so unimportant? Time to get your act together beeb, and while I'm rantin, get rid of Jackie Bird - she does my head in!
