THE 10 NIGHT MOTORCOACH TOUR. We have altered
the tour a wee bit from our original plan. Liz and
Paul will be on the tour the whole time. Please
note some locations have changed, due to hotel
change of ownerships etc. (as of Aug 10th, 2011), it
will be a small group on the coach, great for the "criak"
and good for enjoying the tour plan, grand things
come in wee packages!
WEDNESDAY 20 June;
arrive into Scotland where
Liz and Paul will meet you at
Glasgow airport, show you where
taxis are and how to get to drop luggage at
the hotel. WE HAVE SOME GUESTS WHO HAVE
ARRIVED EARLIER AND WILL BE JOINING US AT
THE HOTEL. In the afternoon you will have the option of a coach tour
(depending on numbers) stopping at the Transport and the Kelvingrove
museums and the
Botanic
Gardens, before returning back to the hotel.
Or just chill and explore Glasgow. Check in
may be 4pm, however the hotel lounge and bar
will be available much sooner for luggage
drop and relaxing. Meet Liz & Paul and collect your tour notes. Staying at
the Millennium
Hotel, George Square, Glasgow.
Dinner included, taken at your leisure
(please book your dinner time when you check
in). You
are in the very centre of Glasgow here, any
help we can give re; pubs, shops etc, we
shall, of course!
THURSDAY 21 June;
the fun starts today! We depart
Glasgow and head north along
Loch Lomond and sail on this world famous stretch of
water. We then drive through to Inveraray
(no stopping in this Campbell HQ) heading to
Oban where you can explore
the town for a couple of hours, maybe time
for the distillery. Then board the ferry to MULL at 4pm (times to be verified nearer
the date).
We check into the Isle of Mull Hotel. Dinner
this evening at the hotel is included. Leisure
facilities at the hotel include indoor pool, all bedrooms look out
to Duart!
What a grand start to the trip! Enjoy a
relaxing evening at the hotel

FRIDAY
22 June; The Coach will depart for
Tobermory this morning where you can collect the
gathering info packs from the clan council
and any tickets outstanding. Free time
here before departing for Craignure stopping en route at a special Maclean site.
For those wishing to travel to Iona and
maybe Staffa, rather than Tobermory, this is
available as an option by booking
ahead with
Bowmans Tours. Book well in advance
direct please and please do let us know,
otherwise we may be hours looking for "lost"
Maclean's!
The evening event staged by the Clan is at the
castle, we shall be providing a coach
service from our hotel. Dinner included at
our hotel, at Isle
of Mull
Hotel.
SATURDAY 23 June;
the main gathering day. We take you to
Duart Castle for the 100th Anniversary
Gathering of Clan Maclean. All day at the
castle including events put on by the clan
council. Dinner once again included at
Isle of Mull
Hotel.. For those
attending the function tonight, we
will take you there and back from the hotel. Note; MCLEANSCOTLAND
have not put on any of the events on Mull.
SUNDAY
24 June;
the coach will depart
for Fishnish where we take the ferry to
Lochaline and travel through stunning
Maclean countryside to another wee ferry to Corran.
We stop briefly at Inverlochy Castle relevant to Maclean's, then to Spean
Bridge and the woollen mill for a lunch stop (lunch not inc,)
shop and whisky. We continue through the glens and
lochs towards Dalwhinnie, then on to Pitlochry.
Staying at Scotlands Hotel,
Pitlochry. Dating from the early 1900s, the hotel
combines Victorian splendour with polished modern
style. The Faskally Restaurant offers the best in
local and Scottish fayre (dinner is included
tonight), whilst MacNabs bar provides a wide
selection of ales and malt whiskies, relax in the
Sonas Spa where spa therapies and beauty treatments
are on offer or spend some time in the pool or gym.
Liz and Paul will be basking in the pool. If you
wish to enjoy the indoor pool, dinnee forget your
swimwear!
MONDAY 25 JUNE;
a day completely to yourselves, to do
with as you please, we will of course be
giving many suggestions; many wee shops in
town, 2 distilleries, play a round of golf,
see the world famous fish ladder, enjoy the
theatre! Many restaurants in town.
Also easy to do ... take the train to Perth,
shops, museum, garden walks, riverside
walks, the
Black Watch
Regimental
Museum. Due to European laws coach drivers
need certain rest days on tour, this is our
drivers rest day! Overnight at
Scotland Hotel.
No dinner included tonight. Any questions, see Liz
or Paul.
TUESDAY 26 JUNE; this morning
we head to Inverness for a day trip, approx
2 hours drive each way. Visiting Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness
and to the Battlefield and museum at
Culloden
Visitor Centre. Anyone not wishing to make
either of these visits can be dropped in Inverness. Or, stay
in Pitlochry, the choice is yours but please
let us know in advance.
Scotland Hotel.
Tonight we will enjoy a whisky tasting with
your hosts and a whisky expert. No dinner
included tonight. Some members
of the group will depart tomorrow...
WEDNESDAY 27 JUNE;
as we head south we will visit a local
Distillery. Then to
Edinburgh
and the Carlton Hotel. A superb 4 star hotel
in the heart of the city surrounded by
great pubs, shops and restaurants, a minute
from the Royal Mile! See our

THURSDAY 28 JUNE;
a day of freedom in our Capital!
Explore all Edinburgh has to offer - and
that is a lot! As usual we will be giving
suggestions and ideas to you for today,
overnight at the Carlton.
A few more McLean's will be departing the
tour in the morning, due to work commitments
in USA etc, sorry to see them go but it has
to be!
FRIDAY 29 JUNE;
a visit to
Rosslyn Chapel and
Rosslin village, before heading into Glasgow.
We are staying at the
5 star Glasgow Hilton tonight. A farewell
Dinner is planned!
THE TOUR ENDS TONIGHT.
Please note, for those needing taxis to the
airport next morning, it is wise to pre book
these with the lobby desk the night before. Should any of you wish to stay longer,
