2009 Gathering in Edinburgh

Clan Tours before/after the Gathering
2009 in Edinburgh.
We can offer your Clan a tour to your own
Clan Lands! For example a 6 day tour would look
something like this maybe; Meet your group either
at hotel or airport, transfer to area of importance,
ie: Maclean would travel to Mull, Cunningham would
travel to Ayrshire, MacDonald would travel to
Glencoe and the Isles etc. We would spend any
number of days within your Clan Lands and certain
other notable areas including possibly Culloden
Battlefield, depending on Clan area. Border Clans;
we would offer you the chance of Culloden also.
Within our tours for you we would offer to include a
seanachie (storyteller), whisky distillery tour,
Welcome and Farewell dinners, free time for golfing
in Scotland where ever your clan is located.
Examples shown below for clans we are
talking to ...

CLAN MACLEAN
what can I say, it's my own clan and we had a
brilliant gathering 2007 on Mull and on our
coach tour. I know many of you came on
that tour and will be waiting for the next
gathering in 2012, but - there are also many who
expressed interest in attending this one too!
We will end up in Edinburgh of course, but
before, we will do an add on tour to Mull (of
course), Maclean's Nose, Ardnamurchan, Morvern
and Inverness. It will be different and
fun!

CLAN SHAW
The Shaws are an ancient Scottish
clan, which played a considerable role in
Highland history. The Shaws were the first
Chiefs of Clan Mackintosh. The Clan name derives
from Shaw "Mor" "Coriaclich", great-grandson of
Angus (6th Chief of Mackintosh) and Eva (heiress
of Clan Chattan (a large confederation of
Highland clans)). By tradition, he led the Clan
Chattan contingent to victory at the famed Clan
Battle of the North Inch at Perth in 1396. They
supported Montrose and raised the Shaw
contingent in the Jacobite rising of 1715.
During the less turbulent periods of Highland
history, the Glen Shee and Glen Isla Shaws were
farmers, mercenaries and both cattle drovers and
rustlers. From the early 19th century they have
worn the Glen Shee, Mac Duff, Mackintosh, Clan
Chattan and the modern Shaw tartans, and
continue to do so today. We would design this
tour to visit all these lands mentioned; Perth,
Glen Shee, Culloden, Glen Isla and Fife. |

CLAN MACTAVISH
with friends in the clan, we will be happy to
work with them for a superb tour of their clan
lands in and around Dunardry, Kilmartin, Argyll
and all places relative to this old clan.
We are working with Sherry to design and plan
this trip for clans people from USA. See
your tour
plan here for both the gathering and add
on tours including the Open Golf
CLAN LIVINGSTONE & MCLEA.
A 7 night tour featuring the 2009
Gathering in Edinburgh, with 4 extra nights on
tour around Clan Lands by luxury motorcoach with
a Scottish Guide. The extra nights feature both
Highland and Lowland Clan Lands in and around
Oban, Lismore and Livingston itself. Further
additional nights either before or after this
tour can be arranged in advance. This tour can
also be taken as a self drive option. On most of
our group tours we like to introduce our
storyteller, “the Highlander” on the run from
Culloden, a fantastic evening with our
seannachie!
