mcleanscotland  are local Scots who pride ourselves on showing you the nooks & crannies other tours companies pass on by.   We can show you those hidden gems even Scots do not know! the mcleanscotland Scottish night in Edinburgh for the Maclean Gathering tour

A Scottish Night to remember!

Friday 15th June - we have planned something special tonight - wear your kilts (if you have them) otherwise smart/casual.  Your hosts for the evening are Liz and Paul.  The evening starts with a coach transfer from the Apex Hotel, Grassmarket to the Menzies Belford Hotel in the West End of Edinburgh.  Upon arrival you will be met by our pipers in the lobby.  We have arranged a welcome drink - check the table seating plan and meet old and new friends.  The Master of Ceremonies will be Andy Grant our Drum Major friend! who will keep you informed & entertained during the evening.

our ceilidh band for the eveningspike in typical pose

We have the fantastic Craigenroan Ceilidh Band for your entertainment throughout the evening, they will be playing a quiet Celtic medley during dinner and then a lively jig and reel to get you all up on your feet after dinner!  Learn some new steps and enjoy the old, traditional dances.  For those who want a little piece and quiet there is a relaxation area or The Granary Pub (part of the hotel). Steve Archibald will also be entertaining us in his unique, award winning way during the interval!

see what we won Mum! As you arrive at the hotel by coach (some will be self drive tours so please make your way there, the hotel does have a car park, but please do not drink and drive.) you will be met by our pipers and drummers from a world champion Pipe band; Denny & Dunipace who will lead a parade of Maclean's down to our private function suite.  At the entrance there is a patio area and hoping for the weather to be on our side, the band will entertain you with a few tunes!  We move into the dining room and await the Haggis with a complimentary welcome cocktail!  Our pipers lead in the Head Chef to a rousing rendition of Scotland the Brave.  This is the start of your five course meal.  A vegetarian option is available.  Our pipers will remain for the dinner so you may well be seated next to a world champion!  please note there WILL be a seating plan.
